Food and footy: a Melburnian’s favourite things.
Luckily for us, March is proving itself with the kick-off of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, and of course, the start of the 2017 AFL Toyota Premiership Season!
While summer is no doubt one of the best times of the year in Melbourne, there’s one thing lacking.
For those die-hard AFL fans, it can be a long wait from that last siren at the Grand Final in early October to the first bounce of the following season in late March.
The anticipation is real when you realise the debut of the new season is just days away! The long wait through summer is over. Yes… footy is finally back!
The 2017 Toyota AFL Premiership Season officially kicks off on Thursday 23rd March at the MCG. (Where else, really!) Carlton and Richmond face off from 7:20pm, and set off a massive opening round.
Subsequent games over this round at the ‘G include:
- Collingwood vs. Western Bulldogs (Friday 24th March; 7:50pm)
- Essendon vs. Hawthorn (Saturday 25th March; 7:25pm)
During the 2017 AFL Home and Away season, the MCG will host 46 matches.
No matter what time of the day or day of the year, choose Le Garage for affordable, convenient, and safe MCG parking. Just a six-minute walk over the William Barak Bridge separates Le Garage from the ‘G.
