Melbourne is no stranger to major events.
From the Australian Open to the countless shows and concerts each month, there’s no shortage of activity happening at Rod Laver Arena, with Nickelback and Maroon 5 kicking off the month.
And the rest of February looks like it’s going to continue to be a packed month for Melbourne music lovers, with not one, but two huge shows to wrap up the month!
Gear up for a mega few weeks as Arctic Monkeys and Red Hot Chili Peppers make their way down under!
Searching for Rod Laver Arena parking?
Heading to one of these blockbuster concerts? Do you know where you can find affordable, safe, and convenient Rod Laver Arena parking?
We’ll tell you where: Le Garage.
Arctic Monkeys at Rod Laver Arena
- When: Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th February, 2019
- Where: Rod Laver Arena
- Time: From 7pm
Founded in 2002, it’s hard to pin Arctic Monkeys into one particular sound.
Debuting with their take on the punk-rock genre, their music has changed dramatically, including ventures into poppy territory with Suck it And See and their recent smash success with AM.
Throughout all these changes however, they’ve remained one of the UK’s most recognised contemporary bands.
And they’re coming to Melbourne this February as part of a series of stadium shows all over Australia.
Featuring a selection of songs from their most recent album Tranquility Base Hotel And Casino, this night promises a uniquely smoky, almost arthouse musical experience… one you won’t want to miss!
They’ll be joined onstage by indie trio Mini Mansions, which features members from Queens Of The Stone Age and The Last Shadow Puppets.
The Tuesday night show is almost sold out, but if you’re lucky, you might be able to snag a last-minute ticket to the Wednesday show. Click here to purchase from Ticketek!
Red Hot Chilli Peppers at Rod Laver Arena

Immediately after Arctic Monkeys grace Rod Laver Arena, Melburnians will have the opportunity to see yet another huge name in music – Red Hot Chili Peppers!
First getting together all the way back in 1983 (where did the time go?), the Peppers are in Melbourne for one night only as part of a country-wide tour.
While the set list hasn’t been released to the public, their previous tour promoting The Getaway (their 11th studio album which spent 2 weeks at the top of the ARIAs) bypassed Australia and New Zealand completely.
As such, we can pretty safely assume there’s going to be a selection of tracks lifted from there.
And of course, we’re almost certainly going to hear classics like Californication, Snow and Under The Bridge, just to name a few!
They’ll be accompanied by Parliament/Funkadelic for a blast of smooth, 70s-style funk.
It’s no surprise that this one-off show is practically sold out! Consider yourself lucky if you managed to snag a ticket!
