Melbourne edges out all other cities as the music capital of Australia, and even in the middle of winter, there are plenty of fantastic shows playing.

And with spring around the corner, we can certainly expect that to ramp up!

So with that in mind, let’s take a look at one of Melbourne’s favourite music venues to see what they’ve got going on in the coming weeks.

Amy Shark, live at the Forum

When: Thursday 30th and Friday 31st August 2018

Time: 7:00pm

Where: Forum Theatre

Local indie singer and songwriter Amy Louise Billings – aka Amy Shark – is back in Melbourne for her largest tour yet.

Shark fans can’t afford to miss this local artist – while this tour is promoting her first album, Amy Shark has already made a name for herself in both the local and international music landscape.

Even if you’ve never heard of her, if you casually follow music, you’ll recognise a couple of her songs.

For example, you’ve probably caught her chart-topper I said Hi at least once – it was #1 rank on iTunes for a good while, and currently sits at #8 half a year on. You might also remember her 3x platinum single Adore back in 2016.

And as the third stop on her Love Monster Tour (a tour that will eventually take her across the Tasman, to the US and all over Europe), Melburnians can see this indie up-and-comer at the Forum Theatre this August.

Feel the vibe with Flight Facilities

When: Wednesday 29th August, Thursday 13th and Friday 14th September 2018

Time: 7:00pm

Where: Forum Theatre

Four years after their previous album Down to Earth, Flight Facilities is set to touch down at the Forum once again. Melbourne is the final destination of this tour, which will feature a setlist led by recent singles Need You and the titular All Your Love.

Sure, it’s been a while since their last album. But that doesn’t mean they haven’t been busy – with two singles in the previous year and a collaboration with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, duo Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell have been hard at work.

Whether you’re a fan of their more slower, more contemplative songs or their faster fare, this is a night you can’t afford to miss if you’re a fan of their unique electro-disco sound.

And unlike many other shows going on at the Forum, this one is making use of the venue’s recently-installed cabaret booths. A commanding view of the show? Reserved seating? Yes please.

Both September shows are sold out, but if you’re lucky, you might be able to snag a ticket for the August show. Buy here.
