Beautiful: The Carole King Musical

  • Her Majesty’s Theatre
  • Friday 16th February to Sunday 13th May

You’ve got to get up every morning with a smile on your face

And show the world all the love in your heart

Then people gonna treat you better

You’re gonna find, yes, you will

That you’re beautiful, you’re beautiful, you’re beautiful as you feel

Carole King wrote the song “Beautiful” when she had some sort of epiphany while taking the subway in New York.

This song then became part of 1971 award winning album, Tapestry. And this also became the title of the musical about the early life and career of the legendary singer and songwriter, Carole King.

With the original production debuting in San Francisco in October 2013 and its Broadway debut on January 2014, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical finally hits our shores starting from February 16th.

The musical had its Australian debut back in September 2016 in Sydney and now it’s Melbourne’s turn.

Playing the iconic Carole King is Esther Hannaford. Hannaford is no stranger to the limelight as she was originally part of the original Australian production of Hairspray. In Hairspray, she played the role of Penny Pingleton – a role for which she received Helpmann Award.

Catch Beautiful: The Carole King Musical from 16 February to 13 May at the Her Majesty’s Theatre – what a great Mother’s Day gift!

For tickets and other information, check out the musical’s website here.
