As the mercury drops, the temptation to lock yourself away and hibernate for the next 3 months is hard to resist.

After all, who would want to host an event in the middle of winter?

While you mightn’t be a fan of entertaining during wintertime, the city of Melbourne certainly is!

Melbourne has a well-earned reputation for being Australia’s mecca for all things cultural and events.

And that doesn’t stop just because the colder months have come in.

Don’t miss these fantastic events coming up this month at Fed Square and the NGV.

Planning a trip to the city? Skip the public transport woes – CBD parking couldn’t be easier thanks to Le Garage. Fed Square parking is a cinch; we’re located mere steps away!

  • Jackson Pollock
  • Pablo Picasso
  • Paul Gauguin
  • And many, many more!

This collection covers all styles of contemporary art, divided into 8 distinct eras. 200 works will be on display ranging from early impressionist works, to expressionism, pop art, abstract art and the surreal.

NGV will also be running its famous Friday Nights sessions from 15th June to 5th October.

Good Food Month

There are few things as satisfying on a cold winter day as a hearty, filling, and most importantly, steaming hot bite to eat.

Featuring a huge range of culinary curiosities both home-grown and international, Good Food Month returns to Melbourne for 2018. This winter, the event will run for the duration of June in celebration of all things gastronomic.

Taking place on the rooftop of the Fed Square car park (among other places like the Russell St extension), this event brings together some of Melbourne and Australia’s leading chefs.

The Melbourne Palms pop-up plays host to a variety of gastronomic delights throughout the month of June, including:

  • The launch party on 13th June
  • Fire Feast with Danielle Alvarez on 16th June
  • Date Night with 8bit & Glace Frozen (with a film screening of The Breakfast Club on the 19th and The Wedding Singer on the 22nd!)

View all Palms events here.

What’s a night out without a bit of music to go with it?

Now in its ninth year, the Melbourne International Singers Festival returns to Fed Square.

Fancy yourself as a bit of a singer? Need a bit of guidance to get your technique down? There are plenty of workshops and classes running throughout the long weekend.

This event isn’t just a night of fun and games either – it’s also supporting a good cause!

Ticket revenue goes directly towards the School of Hard Knocks’ mission of empowering the disadvantaged, marginalised and vulnerable members of our community through music.

Great music and a great cause? Count us in!

Don’t stress out over Fed Square parking

Melbourne doesn’t come to a halt when wintertime rolls around. In fact, it’s entirely possible to enjoy an action-packed winter – all you need to do is bear the cold and plan your journey!

If you’re driving to the CBD, you’ll need somewhere to leave your car that is simply safe and convenient.

If you’ve booked a table at Good Food Month, it’s highly unlikely you’ll find suitable Fed Square parking on-site. Many of the events are taking place on top of the Fed Square parking lot, so expect that fill up immediately!

And if you’re attending the MoMA exhibit and need NGV parking, you’re out of luck –  the gallery has no dedicated parking space of its own.

The only solution? Park at Le Garage!
