The festival runs from 29th March through to 23rd April 2017 at a variety of venues across Melbourne.

Best of British
Venue: Exford Hotel, 199 Russell Street
The IT Crowd, Fawlty Towers, Mr Bean, The Office, Blackadder… we could go on and on.
British comedy is known for its quirky and quick-witted characters. Comedic sketches have been the birthplace of some of the best British television shows of all time!
The Best of British comedy show joins some of Britain’s best stand-up comedians. This show has sold out during every MICF since 2006!
This show is running every night of the comedy festival (as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoons), but as mentioned above, it’s likely to sell out, so make sure you grab your tickets quickly!

One of Australia’s favourite US comedians returns to the MICF stage with his show Organic.
Barker started his career as soon as he graduated high school in 1989. For the past 28 years, he’s taken part in tours across North America, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. He has found such great success in Australia that it has become his second home.

World Famous by Stephen K Amos
Venue: Athenaeum Theatre, 188 Collins Street
One of the UK’s best comedic exports, Steven K Amos once again returns to the MICF stage. He’s spread his comedy all across the world, and for the last 12 months has been delivering laughs all over Europe.
You’re in for a great show, and, as the Herald (UK) said, no one will leave this show “without a beaming smile on their face!”

Comedy Zone Asia
Venue: Melbourne Town Hall (Regent Room), Corner Swanston & Collins Streets
Making its third appearance at MICF, this show brings together comedians from Malaysia, Singapore, and India.

Family and Kids Comedy
The festival isn’t just for adults prone to a crude joke or two (or 10): families can select from a variety of kid-friendly shows throughout the entire month of April.
What a perfect activity to keep kids entertained during the school holidays!
Potty Mouth by Pat Bath
Venue: Melbourne Town Hall (Cloak Room), Corner Swanston & Collins Streets
This show is perfect for kids aged 3-12 who love funny stories, silly songs, and even some magic!
Pick one of 9 shows from the 7th to 16th of April. Please note that despite the name of this show, there is in fact no bad language!
Venue: Exford Hotel, 199 Russell Street
Scottish comedian Chris Henry has created a show that will not only delight young ones, but parents too. As the MICF website says, his show makes people “look up from their phones” and bring the “young and old to the same level”!
High energy, lots of laughs, and some cool balloon modelling are guaranteed in this lively show.

Gut Feeling by Born in a Taxi
Venue: ArtPlay, Birrarung Marr (behind Federation Square)
This interactive show turns your children into the stars!
Follow the journey as you pretend to be a certain food through an inflatable human digestive tract.
This is sure to be a fascinating and hands-on show that will teach as well as entertain.

The month of April looks set to be a big one.
Prepare well when you’re visiting the city during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival: book restaurants in advance, and choose where you’re going to park!
