If there’s one place where no two days are the same, it’s Melbourne’s theatres! Every night, there’s something new going on at each of these venues.
Today, we’ll be shining a spotlight on one of them. Find out what’s going on at the Forum Theatre this July, and why you should choose Le Garage for safe and convenient Forum Theatre parking!
Take a trip back in time with Hot Dub Time Machine
- When: Friday 13th and Saturday 14th July
- Time: 8pm
- Where: Forum Theatre
Not to be confused with the 2010 movie of (almost) the same name, this musical show has played at sold-out shows the world over, including:
- Reading and Leeds Festival
- Splendour in the Grass
Running since 2011, last year was the show’s biggest year yet.
And 2018 promises to be even bigger, with DJ Tom Loud taking Hot Dub Time Machine to the UK once the Australian leg of the tour is over.
So what’s all the fuss about?
Think of it as a musical time capsule, featuring only the biggest, catchiest hits from your teenage years – whenever they were!
Enjoy a unique setlist featuring hits from the 50s to the present (played in strict chronological order) from Hot Dub Time Machine this July at the Forum. The first show is completely sold out, and the second looks set to follow suit!
With classics ranging from radio hits, disco, pop, rock, and electronic from just about every decade, you’re guaranteed to hear a few of your favourites!
Hot Dub doesn’t just play the music, either: Tom Loud puts his own unique spin on each song.
Every song is mixed live on turntables, and played alongside custom clips comprised of music videos, concert footage, and pyrotechnics.
Add the magic of a live crowd singing along to every word, and you’ve got an experience that can’t be missed!
Miguel in Melbourne
- When: Wednesday, 18th July
- Time: 7:30pm
- Where: Forum Theatre
If you’re an R&B lover, no doubt you’ll know Miguel.
The Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter is a name to look out for.
His “Wildheart” album proved popular, and his single “Adorn” netted him a Grammy.
Combined with his prominence in the soundtrack to Disney’s Coco, his profile is certainly rising!
Miguel’s attitude towards music is totally raw: he makes a point of reiterating the fact that he’s a proper artist in an industry of manufactured stars.
And it shows: his music takes him wherever he feels, while his unique way of showing his different side through his music has resonated with music-lovers worldwide.
Miguel hasn’t visited our shores since 2014 in Byron Bay, but this year, he’s extended his War & Leisure tour to including Sydney and Melbourne.
Tickets are already sold out for this night of pop and rock, funk, electronic, and R&B hits from one of music’s purest artists.
