It’s hard to believe that we are already well into March – it feels like just yesterday we were celebrating the beginning of summer and the approach of Christmas!

While the warmer weather might be winding down, the activities certainly aren’t. In fact, there are just as many fantastic events and attractions going on in Melbourne this March.

For die-hard Melburnians, perhaps the greatest weekend of the year approaches as the 2018 AFL season kicks off! Heading to round 1? Choose Le Garage for affordable and convenient MCG parking!

The 2018 footy season kicks off!

  • MCG
  • Opening game: Richmond vs. Carlton; Thursday 22nd March
  • Subsequent Round 1 MCG games:
    • Hawthorn vs. Collingwood; Saturday 24th March
    • Melbourne vs. Geelong; Sunday 25th March

You know the year is well and truly underway when the footy’s back!

While the pre-season has already given us plenty of excitement, there’s nothing quite like the fire that comes with the footy season proper.

Fortunately for footy fanatics, the wait is almost over! On the 22nd of March, another exciting year of competition begins when reigning premiers Richmond take on Carlton at the ‘G in the season opener.

After last year’s less-than-fantastic season, the Blues will be aiming to kick off their 2018 season on the right foot.

But against a Richmond that’s still flying high after their premiership last year and an 87 point demolition of Essendon in the JLT Community Series… well, let’s just say their chances don’t look too great.

This is footy, however, so anything can happen!

And if you barrack for Hawthorn, Collingwood, Melbourne or Geelong, you can catch all four of them at the MCG throughout the rest of the opening weekend.

Need MCG parking? Choose Le Garage!

Conveniently located at the “Paris end” of the CBD on Flinders Street, MCG parking is a cinch thanks to Le Garage. It takes just a few minutes to reach the hallowed ground of the ‘G by foot. Book MCG parking here.
