Aussies are known for having an incredibly high standard when it comes to coffee. It’s basically in our blood!
And among all of Australia’s cities, there’s perhaps none that loves their caffeine more than Melbourne.
Whether you prefer your coffee black or with milk, served in a piccolo or an avocado skin (another local invention), Melburnians are certainly spoiled for choice for their daily caffeine hit.
So much so, that choosing somewhere can be almost impossible!
Le Garage CBD parking
Heading to the city for a day of shopping? Exploring Fed Square? Whatever you’re visiting for, there’s no better place to park than at Le Garage.
Le Garage offers clean, safe, and convenient CBD parking – 24 hours a day!
Located right next to Flinders Lane in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, we’re close to some of Melbourne’s finest coffee shops and cafes.
This week, we’re sharing some of our favourites.
Dukes Coffee Roasters
- Where: 247 Flinders Lane
- Opening hours: Mon – Fri: 7am to 4:30pm | Sat: 9am to 5pm
- Distance from Le Garage: 4 minutes by foot
Not every coffee shop can claim that they source and roast their own coffee beans!
While primarily a coffee supplier, that hasn’t stopped Dukes Coffee Roasters from opening up a couple shops of their own to spread the word.
Stylish, hip and run by people with a deeper understanding of coffee than most, Dukes is the place to be if you’re particularly picky about your coffee.
A word to the wise, however. Be prepared for long queues during rush hours as locals, workers, and visitors stop by to get their favourite cup.

Early mornings at our little coffee bar, located in the heritage listed Ross House. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ross House is the only self managed and community owned not-for-profit building in Melbourne (possibly Australia) and has been an important part of the social justice and environment community in Melbourne for over two decades. Completed in 1897, it is the remaining portion of a large warehouse spanning from Flinders Lane to Flinders Street and, today, provides affordable and accessible office space and resources to small not-for-profit groups working towards environmental and social justice. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For over five years, we’ve been proud to align ourselves with the Ross House Association through our sustainability focused coffee shop. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Visit rosshouse.org.au to learn more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #dukescoffee #dukescoffeeroasters

If you’re a coffee fan, you’ll notice that a lot of CBD coffee shops have a similar look.
Exposed brick, wooden or metal stools, bare bulbs suspended from the ceiling… you get the picture.
Looking for a change? Stop by Cafe Kinetic!
Chandeliers. Leather seating. Rich wood panelling. This sleek and classy establishment is less of a cafe, and more of a fancy restaurant that just happens to do really good coffee!
Axil Coffee Roasters
- Where: 76 Flinders Lane
- Opening hours: Mon – Fri: 7am to 4:00pm (closed Sat and Sun)
- Distance from Le Garage: 2 minutes by foot
Need a quick pick-me-up? Drop by Axil Coffee for something that’ll keep you on the go as you make your way through Melbourne’s CBD.
Small and cosy, the Flinders Lane branch of Axil doesn’t exactly give you much room to sit. But if you ask us, the quality of their roasts more than makes up for it.
Not to mention, you can buy some of it and take it home yourself!

With a name like that, you know you’re in for a treat at Brunetti.
Experience the real Italian deal. On top of authentic Italian coffee and cafe staples like cakes and pastries, Brunetti also offers all manner of salads, pasta and pizza.
Sometimes your plan calls for something a bit more formal than a casual cappuccino down at the local cafe. You might want something more substantial when you gather with your friends.
If you’re in the neighbourhood, why not drop by this portal to Italy?
- Where: 275 Flinders Lane
- Opening hours: Mon – Fri 7am-4pm
- Distance from Le Garage: 6 minutes by foot
