Recognised as Australia’s most prized theatre since 1929, the Regent Theatre recaptures the brilliance and beauty of timeless performances.

Originally built as a cinema in the late 20s, the Regent has been open for business for almost two decades following a long period of neglect. Today, the Regent Theatre is Melbourne’s home of grandiose theatrical plays and musicals from around the world.

As always, this month is no exception. In fact, this month is when arguably one of its biggest shows of the year, The Wizard of Oz, returns to… well, Aus!

And from mid-May to mid-June, The Wizard of Oz returning to Melbourne’s very own Regent Theatre, but with a twist – this time, it’s live and on stage!

Featuring a mix of classics from the Oscar-winning 1939 movie and new original numbers from Andrew Lloyd Webber (Phantom of the Opera, Cats and Jesus Christ Superstar) and Tim Rice (The Lion King), this show is sure to be a smash with audiences big and small alike!

If you caught the 2008 or 2014 seasons of Wicked, you might even recognise some of the cast too!

There’s even a couple of adorable stage dogs too!
