Melbourne’s music scene is the gift that keeps giving – there’s never any shortage of fantastic events to talk about.

And of course, this month is no different.

We all know about the Forum’s reputation as one of Melbourne’s leading live music venues. If you ask us, it more than lives up to its reputation, with major shows such as…

Simple Plan

  • When: Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th April 2018
  • Where: Forum Theatre
  • Time: from 6:30pm

Simple Plan makes its long-awaited return to Melbourne for the Australian leg of their 15th anniversary tour.

As arguably the biggest show in town the next couple of weeks, this show is sure to be a huge hit with new and old fans alike!

The original plan called for one show only, but due to huge demand, a second show on Monday 23rd was added to cope with demand!

Blending pop sounds with themes common to punk rock (with dashes of emo and alt-rock thrown into the mix), Simple Plan’s Melbourne shows promise a killer night full of pop-punk tunes.

And as their 15th anniversary tour, they’ll also be playing their 2002 debut album in full.

So if you were a big fan of No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls, you can’t afford to miss this one!

The Tuesday show has completely sold out, but if you’re lucky, you might be able to snap up a ticket for the Monday show!

Already secured your tickets? Lucky you! Now it’s time to sort out your Forum parking – book now with Le Garage!

Stereophonics

  • When: Tuesday, 1st May
  • Where: Forum Theatre
  • Time: from 7:30pm

Coming down from Wales, this five-person ensemble recently celebrated the 20th(!) anniversary of their debut album, Word Gets Around, last year.

And while they might be the oldest group we’re looking at today, Stereophonics promise a cracking show regardless!

With a sound inspired by classic rockers like The Who and Pink Floyd, Stereophonics is one of the most successful Welsh acts in history, selling over 10 million albums worldwide and winning a bunch of music awards throughout their expansive careers.

And this May, they’ll be showing just how they got to that point, playing a set that includes timeless songs from throughout their career, including Maybe Tomorrow, Superman, Dakota and Have A Nice Day.

Mixed in with singles from their newest album, fans will be in for a real treat.

Portugal. The Man

  • When: Friday 3rd May
  • Where: Forum Theatre
  • Time: From 8pm

Portugal comes down to Melbourne for one night only!

… okay, not quite. If we got you excited about beautiful Iberian landscapes and sweet wine, we’re sorry.

That said, this Portugal is almost as exciting!

This May, the strangely named band Portugal. The Man (yes, full stop, and all) is coming down to Melbourne for a one-night show at the Forum.

And they’re bringing their unique spin to rock music with them.

Hailing from the same middle-of-nowhere Alaskan town as Sarah Palin, this 7-member band made a name for themselves with their eclectic sound that mashes alt-rock tropes together with funky experimental and downright psychedelic instrumentation and effects.

And while their most recent album may have strayed away from their traditional sound into more “poppy” territory, their Melbourne show features an 11-song set pulling from their entire discography.

The music is just one element of a successful night out. If you want an evening you’ll remember for years to come, you’ll also need to think about a couple of other things…

Don’t go on an empty stomach

If you’re going to be out for a show, one thing you’ll want to avoid at all costs is going out to the city on an empty stomach.

Before heading out, check your food options. With its proximity to Flinders Street and Flinders Lane, there’s no shortage of fantastic eats just steps away from the Forum.

Identify yourself

You should always go around with at least one form of ID on you – who knows when you might need it?

And if you’re going to any of these shows, photo ID is a must. It’s important to remember that not every show is rated for all-ages. In fact, all three of these shows are strictly 18+.

Book your Forum parking in advance

Even the best night can be brought down by a nightmarish parking situation.

Our advice? Don’t let it reach that point!

The Forum offers no on-site parking, but luckily for you, Le Garage is located mere steps from the bright lights of the Forum. Our 24/7 car park offers safe and secure parking at any hour of the day or night.
